So, after some testing with the system and actually receiving payment, here is what I have found out if you have both Medicare and MassHealth (Medicaid).
People who qualify for Medicare and MassHealth are known as dual eligibles. If you are a dual eligible, you are eligible for benefits under both the federal Medicare program and MassHealth Standard. UnitedHealthcare ‘s Senior Care Options (HMO SNP) is a special plan for those with dual eligible.
This plan covers everything Medicare covers with some additional services that Medicare doesn’t cover. Originally, Medicare does not cover acupuncture, but because MassHealth Standard covers acupuncture, UnitedHealthcare Senior Care Options covers your needs for acupuncture treatment. Here is what 2015 Evidence of Coverage for UnitedHealthcare® SCO (HMO SNP) says:
It means that eligible providers (MD, DO, Licensed Acupuncturist) like myself within UnitedHealthcare network can provide acupuncture treatments for those in this plan.

Can you provide a list of practitioners in Hamden, Hampshire and Franklin Counties… Thanks,
Hi Jon, I am not able to do that because there is no such list. Maybe you can try google or call your insurance to find out more. Good luck!
